Sshhhh Don't tell Jeff

Jeff had his last basketball game on saturday
and he decided to end the season in style!
Yep, he put the corner of his tooth through his
lip. It's hard to see from these pics but the
corner of his tooth went all the way through!
He actually looked really good yesterday and
then this morning he looked like he had a big wad
( is that how you spell it?) of gum under his lip!
He REALLY didn't want me to post this!
It's our little secret!!

Music anyone?

Several months ago I decided that we needed a little
music in our family so Iwent on KSL.com and
found a small used violin. We also had Chris's old
guitar restrung and I got a nice Keyboard for Christmas.
Austin and Todd are working with the guitar and
Jeff is trying out the piano. He would rather be doing the
drums but dad said no! Me on the other hand am trying to
do piano and the violin at the same time!
So I once again had to visit the internet for another violin!
I will post pics of the boys later!
Samantha has been taking violin lessons for a little over a
month and she can play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and
Mary Had a Little lamb. She is catching on quickly!
She is good at quickly fixing her fingers when
the note doesn't sound right.
Believe it or not we actually haven't had a lot of screaching!
Or atleast as much as I thought we would have!

Idaho Nacho

Idaho Nachos are basically Nachos,
only instead of using Tortilla Chips you use a baked potato.
Taco meat.
Nacho Cheese, NOT Cheez Whiz!
Olives
Green Onions
Diced tomatoes or salsa.
I know what you're thinking...
It looks like a loaded baked potato!
These are REALLY Yummy!
They are called Idaho Nachos because they are
made with a potato and Idaho is the Potato state!

Welcome to Idaho

We woke up Sunday morning to find
Everything from the trees...
to the horse, FROSTED over!

As much as I hate winter it can be the most
beautiful season. I love it when you wake up
and the trees and fences are covered in
frost. It is such a BEAUTIFUL sight!
(Even on our horse Kit)

Be Mine!

Happy Valentire's Day!
I love you Todd!
When you first get married your Valentines Day's
start out mushy! You get flowers, a card, and
a Fancy dinner somewhere. Maybe you go to
a movie or a concert. Then you start adding children.
You might still get flowers and a card and maybe
breakfast in bed. Then you add another baby.
So maybe you get flowers, but you get a card
and maybe dinner. Ok so now you add another
baby. Now you get a card and maybe dinner
cause you can't afford to buy anything
but valentines for your kids classes!
It makes it ALL worth it when your
children come home from school and they
have MADE you a valentine!
Now that is what Valentine's Day is all about!
Staying home and making Idaho Nachos and watching
a movie with your family!

Basketball, Basketball, and More Basketball

We are half way through the boys basketball season and I must admit that I am one of "THOSE mom's" that yell and get mad at the ref's and yes the other teams coach. I realize that my boys are only in 3rd and 5th grades but I am a firm believer that you have to start teaching them from the beginning how to play the game correctly. There are a few boys in this league who seem to think that aggressive playing means that you play like a football player. The last time I checked tackling was a football move not a basketball move. I coach High School Volleyball and as a coach I realize that you can't teach your players everything but you can teach them respect for the game and for the other players!! I'm not sure some of these coaches care about anything but winning when at this age they should worry about TEACHING the kids how to play by the rules and that bad habits are HARD to break!! Don't get me wrong as a coach I LOVE to WIN but at these kids ages they need to learn to play the game correctly first and know that they are all WINNERS! I just think that the ref's and the coaches need to CALM the children down when they are getting out of control! As a coach I would remove my girls from the court if they acted the way some of these kids act! I hope that my kids are learning how NOT to act on the court from these other kids! And I would hope that their coaches would have enough sense to pull MY child out for playing out of control! My kids are very athletic and love to play. They are also extremely competitive like there mother!

Ok I quess I got that off my chest! For this week anyway!

I am very proud of my boys for going out there and playing their little hearts out and doing the BEST they can! I make it a point to tell them at the end of every game that they played awesome and that they just keep getting better week after week!

Camera Fun

On Sunday Samantha wanted to play with my camera.
So I set it up on the tripod and set the camera up on auto
and turned the timer on so all she had to do was push
the button. She would run and jump into my
lap and strike a pose! Isn't she just so cute!
I love you Little One!

Only In IDAHO would you snowblow your DECK!

I took these pictures last a little more than a week ago!
It must have been like 10 degrees and dropping!
Ususally Todd or I would shovel the deck but
this time he decided it was quicker to do it this way!
Maybe I should have said...
You might be a REDNECK if you....
